Welcome to the new website for the Cherry Springs State Park Dark Sky Fund and Association. This is still a work in progress, but feel free to browse through the pages we have set up at this time. This will be the site to visit to get the latest information on happenings in the park and updates on what the Dark Sky Fund is doing project-wise. If you post comments, please confine them to topics of concern at Cherry Springs and with the Fund/Association. Please respect everyone who uses this site and unsigned postings will not be accepted. Anyone abusing this blog will be blocked from the site as per the decision of the Dark Sky Director.

Very soon we will have the procedure for the Wireless Internet usage posted here. You will be required to sign a Terms of Service agreement in order to use the wireless at the park. Please make sure that your automatic updates is turned OFF prior to signing on to the internet. Large file downloading is not permitted and will result in the system being shut down for 24 hours. You will be signing in with a password system and this system will be monitored for compliance of any rules set in place. This is for your safety and to make sure that the astronomers who paid for this site are the only one who are using this access. Please keep checking this site for further information and I will also be posting to the listserver when the system is ready to use.

My thanks to all of you who contributed to the wireless project...and a huge thanks to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation for the grant money they awarded us to start this project up. Contributions must continue in order to keep this system going year after year (just a reminder!).

Hope to see all of you at the 2009 Work Bee...see details as listed on the Home page side bar.

See you under the stars!

Maxine Harrison, Director

CSSP Dark Sky Fund/Assocation

Maxine:

This new website is a great addition to all the things that continue to evolve at Cherry Springs State Park and the Pennsylvania Wilds. It will be a tremendous asset in helping to educate our visitors about the importance of the night sky and that "dark skies" are a very important natural resource. Thank you for your efforts to get this up and running. Keep up the great work!

Whatever your personal views on the subject, you owe it to yourself to be armed with as much information as possible before making the decision to purchase a replica watch.
