VOLUNTEERS

Want to help out at Cherry Springs?

Do you want to help out at Cherry Springs? We are looking for volunteers to help with programs (if you are an astronomer)  and if you have a couple of hours you can donate, in return, we will waive your set up fee for that night.  Public programs are held on both Friday and Saturday nights and run approximately 2 hours.  We will even have a variety of telescopes you can use for the program.  You DO NOT have to direct the program, just assist our Environmental Education Specialist, Greg Snowman, by manning a telescope and sharing your knowledge of the sky with our program participants. Anyone who is interested in becoming a park volunteer can either call the Lyman Run State Park office (the park that administers CSSP) at (814) 435-5010 and let then know that you want to speak to Greg or need to have Greg give you a call back, or you can email him at: RA-NRSPCSSP-EE@state.pa.us

Already have a Galaxy Pass???  Ok....I'm sure we can find some other token of thanks to give you - like maybe one of our cool new CSSP keychains>>>>  Just let Greg know if you are available and he can also help set you up with a Park Telescope....thanks very much in advance....spreading the word about the beauty of the stars is one of the best ways to help us preserve and protect the dark night skies. And....

Looking at the stars on a warm summer night is WAY better than sitting in front of the TV....
